Round Knob Profiles Are Not All the Same
Two knobs can share the same diameter and still feel different in the hand. The front profile, stem, base, and projection affect both the appearance and the space available for your fingers.
Ball and mushroom shapes
A ball-shaped knob has a fuller outline, while a mushroom profile usually has a broader face and a narrower stem. Use the product photos and dimensions to judge which shape suits the size of the cabinet front.
Flat and concave faces
Round does not always mean domed. A flatter face can look quieter on a simple door, while a concave or textured face adds more visible detail. Check side-view images because the front view may not show the full profile.
Diameter and base size
The listed diameter normally refers to the widest part of the knob, but measurement conventions may vary. Also check the base where it meets the cabinet. A base can cover a small mark around an existing hole, but coverage depends on its actual dimensions.
Leave room around corners
Projection matters on corner cabinets and closely spaced doors. Measure the available clearance so the knob does not meet an adjacent front or wall when the door opens.
